So … I’ll be blunt, the material in Scum’s Wish may be too heavy for you to get into without having at least some real life experience with romance so you can relate to at least a few of its themes, such as unrequited love and the heartache that comes from watching him/her in a relationship with someone you know.
The themes and emotional experience that comes from reading it make a very worthwhile read, but you need to have the right mindset going in. It pulls at your heart strings and aims to critically hit every emotion note you have, even some you didn’t know you had. Scum’s Wish is an emotionally heavy read that is shockingly effective at evoking intense and subtle emotions within its readers. If you are brave enough to embark on this emotional journey be prepared for a serious case of “THE FEELS!!” and a tear stained pile of tissues (ಥ﹏ಥ).
#Kuzu no honkai trailer how to#
Throughout the manga we see Hanabi and Mugi learn more about themselves and relationships as they try to figure out how to deal with their relationship with each other and their crushes. In truth they have unrequited love for others and together they act as each other’s “Substitute Love”. Together they appear to be the ideal couple but they have a dark secret.
Scum’s Wish is tragedy romance manga in which we follow the relationship of two high school students, Hanabi Yasuraoka and Mugi Awaya. As of now there have been 6 Japanese Volumes that have been released. If you wish read the manga, Scum’s Wish is licensed by Yen Press and Volume 1 is available in both digital and paperback forms. I don’t usually do this but …WARNING, this is a manga that aims to play with your hopes and dreams while doing its very best to brutally crush it at every opportunity it can find. Kuzu no Honkai, English title Scum’s Wish, is probably going to be one of the darkest and, in my opinion, best romance anime coming out this season.
